I am sure we can all remember being in elementary school art class and cutting up newspapers, magazines and construction paper to make collages of a sailboat or a dog or maybe the really artistic kids tried a self-portrait. Well, I have come across a Miami based mixed media artist who brings collage art to a whole new level.

Now, I know this is a departure from photo mosaics but every once in a while an artist will catch my eye that I just have to share.  Katy Hirschfeld is that artist. These bold and expressive works of art are mesmerizing and I’m sure you’d agree.

“Borrowing allusions to the 90’s, street art, Feminism, and the Seattle Grunge Scene; my obsession grew to facilitate art freedom, with no creative limits nor uppity standards, and carrying little to no predetermined expectations for each piece to serve its inspirational purpose.”

Katy’s collages are playful yet thought provoking and I just can’t get enough! She has an extensive portfolio and products featuring her popular Notorious BIG collage available for purchase here
